Get to Know Me
Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio! My name is Stamatina Tounta, but most people call me Matina. Some fun facts about me... I love penguins, my favorite satellite is Sentinel-2, in my free time I enjoy being in nature, photographing and exploring the mysteries of the universe!
On a more "serious" note, I am a Geographer (BSc) from Greece, and I recently graduated from the MSc in Applied Geoinformatics program at the University of Salzburg (PLUS). Additionally, I am working as a GIS Analyst at Spatial Services GmbH in Salzburg, Austria, where I also completed an internship as an ERASMUS+ Intern (2022) in the Humanitarian Earth Observation department.
Some of my current interests in geoinformatics and remote sensing include water quality monitoring, humanitarian applications, deep learning techniques for building extraction, and flood & habitat mapping.
